Google Calendar SMS
Neat, SMS Notifications din Google Calendar merg si in Romania. Ultima data cand vroiam sa folosesc Google Calendar pe post de SMS reminder singura optiune pe care o gasisem era sa il folosesc impreuna cu Twitter si trebuia sa-mi dau user&pass de la contul de Google. Not in this lifetime. Cu ocazia asta pot sa il fac sa imi trimita SMS inainte de fiecare curs/seminar/laborator ca sa-mi spuna in ce sala e

Japan launched an internetz satellite into orbit. If all goes well, the asians using it will be able to download pr0n at 1.2GB/s. Can`t wait for this to go mainstream. Right now I feel like when I was using dial-up and my friends had broadband. Bring forth faster internetz and HDDs capable of that speed!
Fotbalu` suge
Nu mi-am dat seama cat de mult urasc fotbalul pana cand 'suporterii' de pe stadionu` Giulesti, care e la cativa km buni de blocu` meu, au ajuns sa-mi acopere muzica. Faptul ca am foarte putine cladiri inalte pe o raza destul de mare in spatele blocului meu are si avantaje si dezavantaje se pare. Vara aveam priveliste minunata cand apune soarele, iarna sunt toti copacii,arbustii si casele acoperite de zapada si e alb si frumos, primavara cand sunt multe flori in gradina vilei de langa bloc....si pana acum nu obisnuiam sa tin geamurile larg deschise in fiecare seara si am 'ratat' ocazia de a fi mangaiat pe timpan de urletele idioate ale ...fericitilor de pe stadion.

Pyglet game example
Some time ago I learned Python and after that I found PyGame and Pyglet. I liked Pyglet because of it's simplicity and ease of use. After a few weeks of poking around and learning how to do some basic sprite animation and interaction I came up with a pretty simple platformer (in which you can`t do almost shit) using some sprites I found from a Zelda game.
The source can be found here. You will need to have Python and Pyglet installed to be able to run it.
Or you could get the frozen (py2exe) version from here.
Until I find someone reliable who can draw the characters/enviroment/etc (not someone who'll say (s)he'll draw and chicken out at the last moment) this thing will be on hold.
No, the fire won't kill you because I didn't have any frames with Link dying, but if you run the source, you`ll get some message when the sprites collide.
Later edit: It seems that it doesn`t work with pyglet 1.1alpha on Linux. I will fix it when/if I find the time.
How To: encrypt your USB flash drive
Being a paranoid and all, I decided to move all my sensitive data onto an USB flash drive, but that wasn`t enough. What if I lost it or someone used it while I taking a wanking tea break? Solution: DATA ENCRYPTION!
After a few Google searches I found a nice (not so) little blog post that explains how to encrypt your files on a flash drive. The step in which it says to 'create a volume' refers actually to creating a container file. The post was made 3 years ago and I guess the software got changed a bit during this time. If the post gets deleted for some reason, you can find it frozen here.
The only inconvenience I found is that if you unplug the flash drive without unmounting it from TrueCrypt the files can still be accessed because of the temp file.
